Patsy Farrell is an artist born and reared in Galway, a city on the west coast of Ireland, an area famous worldwide for its outstanding beauty. Nearby Connemara is an unspoilt reserve — its mountains, rivers, and lakes just made for an artist’s eye. Galway City itself is a medieval town, with its quaint buildings, narrow streets and weekly markets. To his north is Mayo, with its Achill Island; to his south, County Clare and the Burren. This is the landscape that has fired his imagination and provided his inspiration from an early age.

Despite never having had any formal training in art, or perhaps because of it, Patsy has worked in many media throughout his artistic career: wood carving, ceramics, stained glass, steel sculpture. But it is through the medium of paint and pastel that he best captures the beauty of the landscape.

Patsy’s paintings can be found in both national and international collections, among them the collection of the President of Ireland, the personal collection of John Behan, an internationally famous artist, and many other private collections. Patsy has sold works to collectors from Ireland, the USA, Spain, the UK, Holland, Australia and Canada.

Patsy has created a range of limited-edition prints showcasing the dramatic scenery of the west of Ireland, which make wonderful, affordable gifts.
