Galway-born Angeline Cooke is a retired teacher who loves to paint. Over the years, she has attended classes by well-known Galway artists : the late Derek Biddulph; Bernie Keogh; Grace Cunningham and now attends Denise Hogan’s and Gill Christie’s classes in Roscam. She has also gone on painting holidays in Ireland, and, more recently, in France and Spain.
The wild natural beauty and rich cultural heritage of Galway and the West are a constant source of inspiration, as well as her travels abroad.
While watercolours remain her favourite medium, she has recently returned to painting in oil and on silk, which she looks forward to developing further.
Angeline is a member of the Galway Art Club since 2002 and has exhibited in nearly every one of their art exhibitions since then. She has also exhibited with other art groups.
