Mary Cooke Conneely continued

Mary was born in London to Irish parents. In 1973 she moved to Ireland and settled in Glaway city. Mary found a love for painting using palette knives with oil on canvas.
 
Mary attended night classes with the renowned Galway Artist Grace Cunningham at her painting studio located in Salthill, since 2005. She also attended a number of workshops with Grace for drawing and water colour. Mary had the privillge to work under the tuition of Geraldine Folan for one year.
 
Mary’s first public exihibion was in the Galway Library as part of the Grace’s student class exhibition. She also featured in two local exhibitions in Headford, Co. Galway.
 
Painting mostly with oils and capturing the atmosphere and spontaneity of the moment with the palette knife.
 
Mary’s work mainly comprises of land and sea scapes using oils. Her painting is expressed in broken colour and loose stokes in a once off rich application of paint.
 
Mary’s aim is to continue to develop her skills and technique as a budding artist and finally one day to have her own solo exhibition.
