Mary Barry is a native of Salthill Galway and is interested in a wide variety of art forms.
Her current focus is oil painting and her works are greatly influenced by the tempestuous weather conditions of the Atlantic coast, painting landscapes of the Burren and Connemara and Old Galway scenes in sepia.
This vital stimulus is manifested in her paintings through the choice of strong subject matter infused with vibrant colour and rich texture, achieved through the combined application of brush and knife techniques.
Mary’s work has been exhibited in Galway on several occasions.
